The participants of CPR workshop were certified by Fortis Hospitals as a trained lifesaver. It is recommended for the prospective runners to go for a health check-up, and go slow initially before increasing the intensity of exercise over a period of six weeks. People without history of heart diseases might also suffer cardiac arrest during marathon as they might push themselves to run more. In case of emergencies, the co-runners would be able to provide basic CPR to save his\/her life\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As per WHO census statistics, approximately 4280 people in every lakh die each year from sudden cardiac arrests in India alone.
