Chennai, 21ST January, 2019: Gleneagles Global Health City, the largest facility of Gleneagles Global Hospitals, a Parkway Pantai Enterprise, today launched its 24×7 Chest Pain Clinic and India\u2019s 1st Primary Angioplasty Support Group. The centre was inaugurated by Actor Dhanush in the presence of Dr K Ravindranath, Chairman, Gleneagles Global Hospitals; Dr Sandeep Attawar, Program Director and Chair \u2013 Heart and Lung transplant and Cardiac Sciences; Dr Govini Balasubramani- Senior Cardiothoracic Surgeon and Team of Cardiologists, Dr Ravikumar, Dr Gobu, Dr Karthick Anjaneyan; Dr Susan George, Dr Narendra Kumar andDr Bharath Kumar.<\/p>\n

The 24×7 Chest Pain Clinic will have dedicated interventional cardiologists who would be working round the clock to provide the best treatments for all kinds of cardiac emergencies.
\nThe clinic will provide all cardiac services a patient needs under one roof so that they get the right treatment in the golden hour. The Clinic will also help people understand the symptoms and will also provide information regarding prevention of chest pain. Basic tests at the time of chest pain like ECG, Echocardiography screening and cardiac enzymes test will be done at the centre round the clock.<\/p>\n

The Primary Angioplasty Support Group would be run by heart disease survivors who offer to share their experiences in a friendly and mutually supportive environment. The primary role of the group is to help patients with cardiac diseases to heal emotionally and physically and also to offer help to their near and dear ones who have heart related illnesses.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the launch of Acute Chest Pain Clinic, Dr K Ravindranath, Chairman, Gleneagles Global Hospitals, said \u201cThere is steady increase in the number of people particularly young adults suffering with cardiovascular diseases in last few decades. Almost 50% of the affected patients arrive too late for appropriate treatment and the possibilities of saving life of the individual would increase if the patient receives treatment within one hour of the attack called the golden hour. Gleneagles Global Health City is the one of the premier institutes in Chennai which offers primary angioplasty round the clock and the Chest pain clinic which was launched today will enhance patient care by reducing time to treatment for patients suffering from Cardiac ailments\u201d<\/p>\n
