In the end K Karthik got the better of the experience S. Balachandar in 3 sets. S. Balachandar started on a high note as he broke K Karthik in the 2nd game and took a runaway 4-1 lead to dominate the 1st set. He served and returned well of completing the formality of winning the set 6-2. There was a drop in energy of S. Balachandar in the 2nd set. K Karthik capitalized to lead 2-1. S. Balachandar fought back to make it 3 all after which K Karthik was always in the lead 4-3, 5-4 and 6-5. K Karthik then dually served comfortably to win the set 7-5 and level the match. The effort so far proved too much for S Balachandar and the strong and fit K Karthik ran away with the 3 set 6-1 and very well deserved victory. K. Karthik will receive prize money of Rs. 30,000 and 30 AITA Points while S. Balachandar will receive prize money of Rs. 25,000 and 22 AITA Points

The ladies Singles Finals was a repeat of last year with top seed Pratima Rao getting better of Shilpa K P the 2nd seed in straight sets. Just like last year the match was an absorbent one. Pratima started on a confident note to lead 2-0 in the 1st set. Shilpa then fought back with impressive tennis to level the score 2 all. Both played and lost their serve and the score was 3 all. Shilpa then held serve to go ahead 4-3. In the next game Pratima double faulted to concede the game and give Shilpa a 5-3 advantage. Shilpa led 40-15 to have 2 set points only to succumb under the pressure and loose the next few points through unforced errors allowing Pratima back in the match who went on to lead 6-5. In the tense 12th game Shilpa showed determination and great saving four set points but the superior Pratima managed to close out the set 7-5 on her 5th set point. In the 2nd set Shilpa held her serve to lead 1-0. Pratima then struggled to hold her serve but leveled 1 all. Therefore Shilpa lost team and Pratima won the next 5 games in a row to win the set 6-1 and a well deserved title. Pratima Rao will receive prize money of Rs. 13,000 and 15 points while Shilpa K P will receive Rs. 6,000 and 12 AITA points

The Men’s Doubles Finals was an interesting affair. Seed 2 K Karthik and Mariappan D got off onto a roaring start breaking their opponents Seed 1 Shekar Veeraswamy and S. Balachandar in the 3rd game to lead 2-1 and then 5-3. They broke Shekar Veeraswamy serve to clinch the set 6-3.
