On Teachers\u2019 Day, Oxford University Press employees become teachers at charity schools!<\/p>\n

o In Chennai, OUP employees took over teaching duties at Chudar Education\u2019s Mylapore and ICF learning centers
\no Children enjoy interactive sessions on Origami, Puppet show, Drama and importance of Hygiene!
\nChennai, Thursday, September 05, 2019: On the occasion of Teachers\u2019 Day, employees from Oxford University Press India (OUPI) found a unique way to thank the teaching community for their contribution to the society. OUP employees in Chennai decided to become teachers\u2019 at charity run schools for a day.<\/p>\n

In Chennai, OUP employees were present at Chudar Education\u2019s Mylapore and ICF centers. In addition to interactive classes on regular subjects, employees conducted engaging sessions on Drama, Origami, Puppet show and Personal Hygiene.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the initiative, Sivaramakrishnan Venkateswaran, Managing Director, Oxford University Press India said: \u201cWe are extremely proud of the Indian teaching community for their strong contribution to learning and education. We owe it to them for playing a pivotal in making India a Knowledge Powerhouse for the world, and I am delighted that OUP employees decided on this unique way to pay them the respect that they truly deserve.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking at the event, Ravishankar Arunachalam, Founder, Chudar Education said: “Oxford University Press employees conducted fun and interactive sessions for underprivileged children at Chudar centers. We believe that learning is better when children learn joyfully as opposed to rote memorization. Chudar’s vision is to see children acquire the skills and confidence to face the future, and such initiatives go a long way towards achieving this vision”<\/p>\n

OUP recently forged a formal partnership with Chudar Education and have committed to fully support the learning needs of children studying at its Mylapore and ICF learning centers in Chennai.
