Currently tobacco use is responsible for around 22% of cancer deaths.<br \/>\n\u2022 Infection \u2013 Infectious agents are responsible for around 2.2 million cancer deaths annually. Around 70% of cervical cancers are caused by Human papillomavirus (HPV) while liver cancer and Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma can be caused by the Hepatitis B and C virus and lymphomas are linked to the Epstein-Barr virus<br \/>\nNon-modifiable risk factors include:<br \/>\n\u2022 Age<br \/>\n\u2022 Hereditary \u2013 Accounts for around 5 to 10 % of cancers only<br \/>\n\u2022 Weakened immune system<\/p>\n<p>Cancer prevention Tips:<br \/>\n1. Don&#8217;t use tobacco<br \/>\n2. Eat a healthy diet<br \/>\n\u2022 Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables<br \/>\n\u2022 Avoid obesity<br \/>\n\u2022 If you choose to drink alcohol, do so only in moderation<br \/>\n\u2022 Limit processed meats<br \/>\n3. Maintain a healthy weight and be physically active<br \/>\n\u2022 As a general goal, include at least 30 minutes of physical activity in your daily routine<br \/>\n4. Avoid over exposure to the sun<br \/>\n5. Get vaccinated:<br \/>\n\u2022 Hepatitis B<br \/>\n\u2022 Human papillomavirus (HPV). The HPV vaccine is recommended for all girls at ages 11 and 12.<br \/>\n7.
