These four qualities can be attained using the renewable energy \/ cogeneration systems. Emerging technologies for smaller, &#8216;decentralised&#8217;, electricity generation also allows power providers to produce electricity near to the point of use (rather than near the source of fuel as for many conventional large scale power stations), with reduced losses in long distance transmission of power, reduced costs in reinforcing the power transmission network, and improved opportunities for &#8216;co-generation&#8217; of power and heat, with the use of &#8216;waste&#8217; heat in homes and workplaces.<\/p>\n<p>In the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.polygeneration.net\/\">Polygeneration<\/a>\u00a0system, cogeneration of multiple energy services using flexible fuel input to allow for a sustainable energy mix will be in focus. It refers to the combined production of electricity with heat, cold and any other useful products as it includes conventional cogeneration, trigeneration, as well as technologies for producing fuels and other value added products such as potable water, dry air etc.<\/p>\n<p>The first and second European\u00a0<b>Conference on Polygeneration<\/b>\u00a0were organised in 2007 and 2011 by\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.crever.urv.cat\/\" target=\"_blank\">CREVER<\/a>group of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.urv.cat\/\" target=\"_blank\">Universitat Rovira i Virgili<\/a>, Tarragona, Spain under the EU Research and Demonstration Projects namely POLYCITY and CONCERTO. These two conferences provided platforms to promote discussions and exchange of ideas between scientists and industrialists on the use of energy efficient technologies, processes and products not only from Europe, but also from all over the world. In continuation, the next International Conference on Polygeneration,<a href=\"http:\/\/www.polygeneration.net\/\">ICP 2015<\/a>\u00a0is being organised at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.annauniv.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">Anna University<\/a>, Chennai, India, February 18-20, 2015 to reach the goals for the clean and sustainable energy technologies in future.<\/p>\n<div id=\"menu\">\n<div id=\"menu_botons\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.polygeneration.net\/?seccio=presentation\">\u00a0<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Energy drives the world and chosen based on four qualities: affordable, available, reliable and clean.
