The second season of the initiative saw an overwhelming response with participation of more than 5000 budding footballing talent from India; in the end, it was the sublime skills of four young footballers \u2013 Chennai\u2019s RS Preyarhanjan, Federick Kurbah from Meghalaya, Chandigarh\u2019s Ronald Singh and Kunal Yeole from Pune \u2013 that won the hearts of the judges and coaches. The second season of United We Play was launched earlier this year with a virtual interaction with Manchester United legend Dimitar Berbatov.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The four shortlisted players are being given a once in a lifetime opportunity to visit Old Trafford to participate in exciting activities like a match day experience, training session with Manchester United Soccer School coaches, and legend interactions.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The second season of United We Play was conducted across 19 markets in India, in a hybrid format comprising 10 virtual workshops and Masterclasses across 12 markets, and an on-ground leg across 8 markets in two phases, reaching out to more than 5000 aspiring players. As part of United We Play, Indian coaches also underwent a development programme under the Manchester United Soccer School coaches, post which they conducted the first round of trials to shortlist the top players from each market. The second phase of trials was conducted by Manchester United Soccer School coaches, and the four winners were subsequently shortlisted in the presence of the Legends.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Victoria Timpson, CEO of Alliances and Partnerships, Manchester United, said,<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cManchester United is proud of its longstanding partnership with Apollo and the continuous work they do to encourage football amongst aspiring young players in India. In addition to being the Global Tyre Partner of Manchester United Football Club, Apollo Tyres, in India, has a presence in Indian Super League (ISL), being the principal sponsor of Chennaiyin FC.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong><u>The Winners:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>RS Preyarhanjan<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>(Chennai, Tamil Nadu)<\/strong>: A local boy from Chennai where the finale was held, 16-year-old Preyarhanjan has been playing football since he was 8 years old. He considers football as his passion, preferring to play as a right-back, and left everyone impressed with his display during the finals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Federick Kurbah (Mairang, Meghalaya)<\/strong>: Coming from Meghalaya, which has produced many footballers of note, 16-year-old Federick started training under his school coach when he was in class 6. An attacking midfielder, he idolises Brazilian superstar Neymar and has learnt various techniques from online videos of his favourite footballer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Ronald Singh (Chandigarh):\u00a0<\/strong>14-year-old Ronald Singh is a product of the Minerva Academy in Chandigarh and originally hails from Imphal, Manipur. A talented striker, it comes as no surprise that Ronald\u2019s favourite footballer is Cristiano Ronaldo.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Kunal Yeole (Pune, Maharashtra):\u00a0<\/strong>Son of a businessman father and accountant mother, Kunal Yeole hails from Pune, a city known for its vibrant footballing culture.
