Ajay (Sudarshan Govind), a Chennai-based App Developer, is creating a chatting app called “Nee Forever”. To research for the app, Ajay plans to romance a girl to understand real-life couple interactions. Software company owner Prabhakar (M.J. Sriram) assures he’ll accept the app if created as planned.<\/p>\n

Mathi (Archenaa Ravi), an aspiring film director, needs real-life love experience for her screenplay. She plans to fake romance with a guy to gather emotions for her story.<\/p>\n

Ajay and Mathi connect through Trouble App, hiding their true intentions. Initially, their “research romance” is casual and Gen-Z . Rethika Srinivas (Mahalakshmi) promises to produce Mathi’s film if she crafts a compelling love story.<\/p>\n

As Ajay falls for Mathi, she suddenly disappears. The story takes an unexpected sentimental turn, revealing Ajay’s family background. His mom, Revathy (Vidya), had a rebellious love marriage, but later separated from her husband and returned to her father’s (Y.Gee. Mahendran) home.<\/p>\n

Ajay, raised by a strict but loving grandfather, is brought back to his hometown for a arranged marriage. But Mathi’s presence there sparks trouble, leading to a tense situation where his grandfather attempts suicide. The story unfolds with flashbacks revealing painful pasts. When Ajay and Mathi’s deception is exposed, it creates a rift. Will they overcome their mistakes and unite? Will Ajay’s parents reconcile?<\/p>\n

Sudarshan Govind delivers a sincere performance as Ajay, conveying the character’s vulnerability and emotional depth, especially in scenes showcasing family bonds and heartbreak. Archenaa Ravi fits perfectly as Mathi, a modern, bold woman. She shines in both casual and emotional scenes, and her chemistry with Sudarshan enhances the love scenes.<\/p>\n

Y.Gee. Mahendran anchors the second half with his portrayal of a strict grandfather. His scenes, especially the suicide attempt and flashbacks, add depth to the story. Nizhalgal Ravi, M.J. Sriram, and Rethika Srinivas deliver solid performances in their supporting roles. Vidya shines as Ajay’s mom, bringing warmth. Prathu (Prathosh) and Nobel James attempt humor workouts well.<\/p>\n

Cinematographer Raja Bhattacharjee beautifully captures the colorful visuals needed for a love story spanning two timelines, enhancing the film’s quality. Music Composer Ashwin Hemanth delivers peppy tracks and emotive background scores, enhancing the story.<\/p>\n

Editor S.A.Nagarjun, showcases his skills in the film especially in the lengthy flashback scenes of the second half. Art Director Varnaalayaa Jagadeesan’s work complements the story nicely. Director Ashokkumar Kalaivani blends modern ‘app’ culture with traditional family bonds, crafting a mix of fun and sentimentality. He gives each character a backstory, creating multiple plot threads. The film’s an emotional drama with a colourful, youthful vibe.<\/p>\n

“Nee Forever’ movie explores the struggle between two priorities: ambition and love.<\/p>\n
