The year is 1988, in North Sri Lanka, amidst the Indian Peace Keeping Force (IPKF) presence. Vasuki (Kapila Venu) and her family prepare for a wedding in Jaffna, needing IPKF and Sri Lankan army clearance to hold it. On the eve of the wedding, Captain (Naveen Chandra) and IPKF soldiers inadvertently lay siege to the house.<\/p>\n

They weren’t searching for the family, but ended up there due to a map mix-up. Realizing they’re stranded till dawn with no backup, Captain Naveen Chandra decides to take refuge inside, holding the innocent Tamil family hostage and turning the wedding venue into a temporary safe camp.<\/p>\n

The wedding venue is suddenly occupied by the IPKF group. Captain Naveen Chandra, strict yet rational, tries to keep things under control. His team includes a trigger-happy soldier and a Tamil-speaking recruit, making for a tense night. As the militants surround the house, they deliberately leak info, manipulating the Indian soldiers. Captain Naveen Chandra faces a tough mental test. Caught in the crossfire are the Tamil family’s wedding dreams, soldiers with guns, and militants outside \u2013 it’s a psychological war and survival struggle within the house.<\/p>\n

Naveen Chandra shines as the Indian Army Captain, torn between authority and humanity, conveying the weight of duty and a family’s safety through his eyes. The other casts, including Roopa Koduvayur, Sananth, Kapila Venu, Rohit Kokate, Vidhu, Sidhu Kumaresan, Navayuga, Swathi Krishnan, Namasivayam Thambipillai and Kayal Vincent, blend in as family members, militants, and soldiers, bringing authenticity to their roles.<\/p>\n

Music Composer K’s background score elevates the film’s emotional and tense atmosphere, becoming the heartbeat of the movie. Cinematographer Selvarathinam Pradeepan captures the night scenes naturally, moving the camera within the house, conveying the emotional tension between silence and sound. Editor Radha Sridhar keeps the film engaging with a seamless, crisp pace. Martin’s Art Direction recreates the Jaffna home, transporting us to 1988.<\/p>\n

Director Someetharan focuses on the human impact of war, drawing from personal experiences. He crafts a film that dives straight into the story, exploring humanity amidst conflict without grand srilankan Tamilian life and political statements.
