The second part has been made as a sequel to ‘Gatta Kusthi’ which released in 2022 starring Vishnuu Vishal and Aishwarya Lekshmi and received widespread acclaim. The first film ended with Veera [Vishnu Vishal] changing his patriarchal mindset, accepting that Keerthi [Aishwarya Lekshmi] is a wrestler, and showing that they have a baby girl.<\/p>\n

‘Gatta Kusthi 2’ picks up right from there. Now, Keerthi is undergoing intense training to compete in an international wrestling tournament. Veera, her husband who in the first film believed that \u2018a woman should be submissive and reserved\u2019, has now completely shed his old patriarchal mindset. He transforms into a responsible \u2018house husband\u2019 who shoulders the entire family\u2019s burden, dedicating his life to his wife\u2019s success and supporting her ambitions.<\/p>\n

Veera\u2019s life now involves jostling in crowds of women to fetch water and carry pots, handling household chores, and taking care of his six-year-old mischievous daughter Mathi Malar [Baby Zara]. This lifestyle irritates and makes the men in the neighborhood envious.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, as Keerthi prepares for South Indian and national-level wrestling competitions, minor differences of opinion crop up between the couple regarding their daughter\u2019s upbringing and future. While Keerthi is adamant that her daughter should grow up to be a great wrestler like her, Veera believes they should prioritize the daughter\u2019s own interest, since she\u2019s passionate about dance.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

In this situation, as Keerthi comes under immense stress, Veera, wanting to ease his wife\u2019s tension, asks her wrestling coach [Tarak Ponnappa] for advice. But driven by jealousy of Keerthi\u2019s success and growth, the treacherous coach secretly plots to block her progress and ensure his favored student wins. He exploits Veera\u2019s family worries, convinces him that a performance-enhancing drug is actually a traditional herbal medicine, and gets it to him through a folk healer.<\/p>\n

Believing it to be completely genuine, Veera quietly mixes this drug into Keerthi\u2019s food every day without her knowledge. As a result, Keerthi loses in the very first round of a crucial South Indian tournament, gets banned from sports for a year, and her wrestling dream is shattered.<\/p>\n

At one point, when Keerthi finds out about her husband\u2019s secret drugging, she is convinced that this was Veera\u2019s conspiracy because he couldn\u2019t bear to see her progress. Unable to bear this betrayal, she leaves her husband, files for divorce, and takes the matter to court. Both sides of the family, instead of resolving this small misunderstanding, intervene and make things worse. The separation between mom and dad also affects their daughter emotionally.<\/p>\n

The rest of the story unfolds with gripping and emotional scenes, showing whether Veera\u2019s name was cleared after the courtroom drama and various twists, how Veera came to understand the validity in his wife\u2019s ambition and Keerthi came to realize the truth behind her husband\u2019s sacrifice, and how they managed to protect both their family and their dreams.<\/p>\n

Vishnuu Vishal, instead of playing an action hero, has portrayed a responsible \u2018house husband\u2019 who dedicates his life to his wife\u2019s success with great finesse and natural ease. From the scene where he pushes through a crowd of women fetching water and emerges with pots, he keeps the audience in splits with his non-stop comedy throughout the film. At the same time, he also nails a few action sequences and proves with precision that he is still a mass hero.<\/p>\n

Especially his dance with actress Mokksha for the \u2018Appadi Podu\u2019 song is the kind that shakes up the entire theatre. Vishnuu Vishal grabs attention on screen both as a responsible husband who looks after the family and as an action hero when needed, and he brilliantly brings out his seasoned acting in the emotional scenes that show his love for his wife, affection for his daughter, and his fight for the family.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Aishwarya Lekshmi, this time, comes in as an even stronger and more intense Keerthi than in the first part and holds the audience captive. She delivers a stunning performance across the board \u2014 as a self-respecting woman, an amazing wrestler, a wife who gives you goosebumps, and a strict mother concerned for her child\u2019s well-being.<\/p>\n

The effort Aishwarya Lekshmi has put into the wrestling scenes is extraordinary. She has effectively brought out both her aggressive body language and the emotions of a family woman. She excels in both dimensions \u2014 as a fierce wrestler with a rugged body language in the ring, and as an emotional wife in family life. Especially her work in the climax wrestling sequences has received huge appreciation from the audience.<\/p>\n

Baby Zara, who plays the daughter of the Vishnuu Vishal \u2013 Aishwarya Lekshmi pair, completely steals our hearts throughout the film. With her adorable, mischievous childlike performance, she makes the theatre come alive with laughter in several key scenes and earns the audience\u2019s applause. In the emotional sequences that depict the father-daughter bond, her acting is so touching that it naturally melts our hearts. In every scene, through her own unique expressions, she adds immense strength to the entire film through the character of Mathi Malar.<\/p>\n

Karunaas, who plays the patriarchal uncle, rocks the theatre with his perfectly timed comedy. Matching him, Lizzie Antony delivers a lovable performance with millimeter-perfect precision and clear diction. Mokksha, in the role of \u2018Meenu Teacher\u2019, brings a youthful energy and creates a lively vibe, making the theatre come alive in the \u2018Appadi Podu\u2019 song sequences. Munishkanth as Keerthi\u2019s uncle, Kaali Venkat as lawyer Sattanathan, and Karunakaran as neigbour add weight to the comedy with their realistic performances.<\/p>\n

Tarak Ponnappa delivers a subtle, restrained negative performance as the treacherous coach. Ramya Krishnan\u2019s powerful cameo as the judge in the courtroom scenes, and Yogi Babu\u2019s perfectly timed one-liners as the match commentator though brief roles bring major star power to the film and set off a non-stop comedy firecracker.<\/p>\n

Music composer Sean Roldan has crafted the background score brilliantly to match the screenplay\u2019s pace, adding great strength and polish to the entire film. He has perfectly understood what the director envisioned and handled the family-oriented emotional scenes and lively comedy moments with heartfelt music.<\/p>\n

While the songs have already received a good response from fans, the background score is perfectly tuned to keep the audience hooked, ensuring the thrill of every scene never drops.<\/p>\n

Cinematographer K.M. Bhaskaran has captured both the wrestling tournaments and the realistic family scenes in a very vibrant and refined manner. He has shot the story locations like Kerala and Palakkad with stunning angles, giving the film a distinct visual treat. Through his camera craft, he has beautifully portrayed this world that blends sports and family emotions, and greatly aided the flow of the screenplay.<\/p>\n

Editor Bharath Vikraman, understanding the pace required for a commercial family film, has strung the scenes together very neatly without any lag at any point. From the beginning to the end, he keeps the audience engaged without boredom, maintains the momentum, handles the film\u2019s runtime effectively, and has edited the screenplay with precision \u2014 adding great strength to the film with his cuts.<\/p>\n

Art director Jayachandran has designed both the grandeur of the wrestling arena and the realistic middle-class family homes with great precision and excellence. He has recreated the wrestling academy and the tournament venues to look just like real sports grounds, perfectly grasping the director\u2019s vision and showcasing his artistic skill.<\/p>\n

His art direction has enhanced the authenticity of the scenes and played a major role in immersing the audience into the film.<\/p>\n

Director Chella Ayyavu, following the fun success of the first part, has paid extra attention to the screenplay of this second part and directed it neatly as a complete entertainer. He has brought contemporary issues like family relationships, husband – wife understanding, and child-rearing to the screen with a touch of humor, getting the actors to internalize his vision well.<\/p>\n

The way he handles progressive and unconventional ideas like a \u2018house husband\u2019 without any preachy moments, using light-hearted commercial angles, is excellent. Without any dull stretches, he has polished the romance and family emotions with precision, maintained the pace, and shaped the film in a way that keeps all audiences glued to theatres brilliantly proving his extraordinary talent.<\/p>\n

“Gatta Kusthi 2” movie is a fantastic commercial entertainer that the entire family can enjoy happily in theatres!<\/p>\n
