\u2018Mudarkanal\u2019 is a film centered on drug addiction, which has emerged as a major challenge in today\u2019s society. It has been crafted as a suspense-thriller to captivate the audience.<\/p>\n

Director R. Venkataramanan moves the story forward in an emotional and gripping way \u2014 depicting a talented young man (Ashwin Viswanathan) with dreams of achieving something, who falls into the world of drugs due to bad company (Rajesh) and ends up losing his life, and his struggle to recover from it and conquer his future.<\/p>\n

The biggest strength of his direction is that, without becoming preachy at any point, he manages to spread the awareness society needs through an engaging screenplay.<\/p>\n

Ashwin Viswanathan, who plays the hero, captures attention by expressing every emotion of his character very naturally. His ability to portray a young man\u2019s dreams, mistakes, anguish, and his struggle to bounce back with authenticity stands out as the highlight of his performance.<\/p>\n

All the actors including Rajesh, Ramasamy, Tanuja, Ilakkiya, Ari Karan, and Yogesh have fully internalized their characters in their performances, which adds more strength to the film\u2019s emotional scenes. Cinematographer Kandaswamy Gopal beautifully captures the mood of the scenes and effectively conveys the thriller feel to the audience. The color palette and framing of the shots give the film a distinct visual identity. Background Music Composer Meera Lal blend naturally with the story and leave a lasting impression. The background score makes every suspenseful moment even more gripping and adds extra depth to the emotional scenes background music stand out as one of the film\u2019s biggest strengths. Editor Tisyan Sarathy has edited the scenes at the right pace, the film never feels sluggish and remains engaging right till the end.<\/p>\n
