\"HOI<\/a>Chennai, July 2016: <\/strong>HandsOfIndia (HOI) an inspired initiative which showcases and promotes the finesse of Indian weaves, clothing and handicraft is back in Chennai with its annual July exhibit. Visiting Chennai twice a year for the 6th<\/sup> year in a row, HOI\u2019s handcrafted products have a great appeal among discerning customers in Chennai. On display and sale will be a range of exquisite hand woven hand-embroidered apparels and furnishings that features 9 embroidery forms from across India like the Phulkari style from Punjab, Chikan, Pattiwork and Aari from Uttar Pradesh, Kantha and English Embroidery from West Bengal, Sujani from Bihar, Sozni and Kashida from Kashmir. The exhibition will be from 1st<\/sup> \u2013 5th<\/sup> July<\/strong> at the CP Art Centre, Alwarpet, Chennai.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"HOI<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>HOI is deeply committed towards preserving the rich textile and handcrafting traditions of the country, while focussing more on the artisans than the art.\u00a0HOI now works with 50 artisan groups across the country totalling 1500 artisans, employs about 80 people in its stitching and marketing department based out of Vrindaban, Uttar Pradesh, and retails online through its own website\u00a0www.handsofindia.com<\/u>.<\/p>\n

\"HOI<\/a>In its quest to introduce new hand-embroidery forms, HOI this time will be launching its limited edition hand-woven kurtas featuring the extremely intricate Kasuti hand-embroidery work from North Karnataka. The exhibition will also feature the brand new range of handcrafted western wear designed by the students of NIFT. Yet another attraction will be the extremely intricate Bandhani and Leheriya Kota dupattas, a very big range of Phulia cotton and silk-cotton sarees and the very popular single count cotton sarees from Nuapatna, Orissa which is a perfect choice for the hot and humid climate of Chennai.<\/p>\n

\"HOI<\/a>On show will be hand-woven Mangalagiri, Ikat, Donguria, Maheshwari, Chanderi, Phulia and silk-cotton sarees with intricate hand-embroidery work which is priced from Rs.2700 upto Rs.7500. There will also be hand-printed single count \u2018mul-mul\u2019 sarees priced at Rs.1590. The magnum opus will be vintage Chanderi Sarees, embellished with the extinct \u2018ek-naali\u2019 work revived from 100 year old samples which is\u00a0a true first, since HOI is the only organisation promoting \u2018ek-naali\u2019 work. These premium Chanderi sarees are priced from Rs.10,000 to Rs.17,000. Contemporary, colour block printed Phulia Tussar silk and cotton sarees from West Bengal with prices ranging below Rs.2000 for cotton sarees and silk sarees starting at Rs.3500 will be available. There is also a selection of dupattas which are hand-woven and hand-embroidered in Chikankari, Kantha, Phulkari, Pattiwork and Aari styles starting from Rs.900 and priced upto Rs.2500 for silk dupattas<\/p>\n

\"HOI<\/a>The ready to wear section will have a range of Indian and western wear on display. The Indian ready to wear will include a huge collection of hand-woven kurtis, kurtas, suit sets, salwars, patialas and dupattas featuring some of the finest known embroidery work. There will be on sale an expansive range of hand-printed kurtas and sets, a big collection of hand done Bandhani and Leheriya \u2013 two tie and dye work from Rajasthan priced from Rs. 700 and upto Rs.2500. The western wear include tunics, tops, trousers, palazzos, skirts, jackets and dresses all impeccably stitched with a touch of Indian creativity. The western wear range is priced between Rs.500 and Rs.1800.<\/p>\n

Yet another feature of the July show is the wide range of home furnishing that is on sale. This includes high quality bed spreads and quilts hand printed in Rajasthan. The select range of Dhabla bed spreads from Gujarat and hand-woven and hand-embroidered bed covers from Kanyakumari will be the few standouts amongst a range of products.<\/p>\n
