Vinoth Kumar, Managing Trustee, Singhvi Charitable Trust and his family members are also seen in the picture.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Singhvi Charitable Trust donates the Rs. 25 crore worth facility to Cancer Institute (WIA), Adyar<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Chennai, June 21, 2017<\/p>\n<p>The Singhvi Charitable Trust, provider of various kinds of relief to the poor and needy &#8211; is throwing open <span data-term=\"goog_129137443\">tomorrow<\/span>(<strong>22nd June<\/strong>) state\u2019s first of its kind palliative care centre `Mahaveer Ashray\u2019 for terminally ill poor and underprivileged cancer patients, in Smt. Chandrabai Singhvi Campus at Sriperumbudur. The announcement on the commencement of the centre was made during a press meet held today (<strong>June 21, 2017<\/strong>) at the venue.<\/p>\n<p>Shri N Sugalchand Jain, Founder and The Board of Trustees of the Singhvi Charitable Trust are to hand over the keys of the centre to Padma Vibhushan Dr. V. Shanta, Chairman, Cancer Institute (WIA), Adyar.<\/p>\n<p>The 50-bedded state-of-the-art facility built in 4.60 acres of land features well-equipped functional space of 39,350 sq.ft. with patient-comfort ambience. The total cost of the Palliative Care Centre is around Rs.25 crores.<\/p>\n<p>Mahaveer Ashray would provide emotional support, physical comfort and required medical attention to patients enabling them to spend their last days in peace. It would also provide emotional support to the families of the patients.<\/p>\n<p>The Trust donates Mahaveer Ashray to the Cancer Institute (WIA), Adyar, as it is the most efficient, caring institute doing extra ordinary noble service to the patients under the dedicated supervision of Padma Vibhushan Dr. V. Shantha. The Cancer Institute (WIA) will fully and exclusively manage, control and operate the Mahaveer Ashray with the mission `service to all\u2019 irrespective of social or economic class.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDrawing inspiration from an idea expressed by the late Dr. Krishnamurthi and Dr. Shanta, the people responsible for the development of the Cancer Institute as an eminent institution, Singhvi Charitable Trust has come up with such an arrangement that would ensure that the maximum possible relief is provided to such patients in an institution without their occupying beds in a hospital which could be used for patients who can be treated and cured,\u201d said Shri N Sugalchand Jain, Founder of The Singhvi Charitable Trust.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cApart from donating this Palliative Care Centre at Sriperumbudur, we have had the privilege of adding the three facilities namely Bhagwan Adinath Jain Complex, Jadavbai Nathmal Singhvi Oncology Complex and Bhagwan Mahaveer Vishranti Graha at the Cancer Institute campus,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>About Donors:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>The establishment of `Mahaveer Ashray\u2019 has been assisted by generous donors and supporters such as Sri Parag Shah, Sri Samy, Sri Mahaveer Lunawath, Sri Shantilal Kamlesh Kumar Jain, Sri Mukesh Jain, who has supplied the customised beds and Sri John of Johnson Lifts Pvt Ltd., who has donated the lifts for the Centre.<\/p>\n<p>The centre has been named as \u2018Mahaveer Ashray\u2019, after Bhagwan Mahaveer, the apostle of compassion and located in a campus named after the late Smt. Chandrabai, the inspiration behind the charitable activities of the Singhvi family.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About the Singhvi Charitable Trust:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Singhvi Charitable Trust was established in 1974 by Shri N Sugalchand Jain.\u00a0 He strongly believes in the universal philosophy \u201cLive and Let Live\u201d of Bhagwan Mahaveer and has an immense desire to help the needy and assist the underprivileged in our society.<\/p>\n<p>The Trust undertakes socially relevant activities with special focus on health care. These include the running of free eye and dental camps both at Chennai and in remote rural areas within a distance of about 100 <a href=\"http:\/\/k.ms\/\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?hl=en&amp;q=http:\/\/k.ms&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1498328395894000&amp;usg=AFQjCNFRqlULkEyJ9BEki_b3tb56Mo6HtQ\">k.ms<\/a> from Chennai where patients are provided eye care including provision of spectacles and referral to hospitals for cataract surgery where necessary.\u00a0 So far, more than 2,81,310 spectacles have been distributed free of cost \u2013 the achievement has been lauded by Limca Book of Records.<\/p>\n<p>Further, Singhvi Charitable Trust also runs a pathological laboratory providing health care services at modest rates.
