Ltd. under the aegis of United Sisters Foundation, saw women across age groups and from all different strata of society participating in the V wash Plus 3 km, 5 km, Tata Salt Lite10 km and 21 km categories run to raise awareness about the importance of a healthy lifestyle for women & issues like breast cancer.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"JAN_7419<\/a>Chennai,\u00a0July 2, 2017<\/span>:Chennai Pinkathon, empowering Indian Women,<\/strong> an initiative to raise awareness about the importance of a healthy lifestyle for women and issues like breast cancer, successfully concluded Fourth Edition in Chennai on\u00a0Sunday, July 2,2017 at Island Ground, Chennai, 7500 women across age groups and from all different segments of the society participated enthusiastically in the<\/p>\n

V Wash Plus 3 km, 5 km, Tata Salt Lite10 km and 21 km categories. Flagging off the run was super-model, actor, fitness enthusiast avid barefoot runner and Pinkathon founder Milind Soman.<\/p>\n

\"K01_0755<\/a>Medical Partner Apollo Hospital will be providing a Medical tag for every participant Chennai Pinkathon2017. This medical tag will provide a free Mammogram to all the participants above 44 yrs of age & a free medical examination check-up for those who are under 44 yrs from Apollo Hospital.<\/p>\n

Some of the noteworthy participants in the run were a group of 30 visually impaired girls and 150 hearing impaired girls running the V wash plus 3 KM\/ 5 km\/Tata Salt Lite 10 km distance with enthusiasm. Additionally the run witnessed a squad of cancer survivors who participated in V wash Plus 3KM and 5 km. 25 Baby wearing mothers carrying babies just a few months old walked the Vwash Plus 3KM distance.\u00a0 The run had participants as young as\u00a04<\/em>months and as old as 84 years.<\/p>\n

Commenting on the success of the Chennai\u00a0\u00a0 Pinkathon Milind Soman, Founder Pinkathon said,<\/strong>\u2018Pinkathon is more than a Marathon. It is the seed of change. It is the beginning of a movement carried forward by a growing community of empowered women across India, who share a belief that a healthy family, a healthy nation and a healthy world begins with empowered women. The first step in empowerment is taking control of your own health, respecting yourself and understanding and celebrating the value you bring to your family and society. Empowerment is not a gift of society; it is a gift you give yourself. We are delighted to have such diverse crowd right from young school students, housewives, corporate, cancer survivors, underprivileged and visually impaired girls participating in Chennai\u00a0 Pinkathon.\u2019<\/p>\n
