The festival, organised as a result of the collaboration between the UAE based\u00a0<strong>GEMS Education<\/strong>, which is the world\u2019s largest private K-12 school education provider, as well as the\u00a0<strong>Government of Rajasthan<\/strong>,\u00a0was incepted to celebrate the future of education. The main remit of the event was to facilitate knowledge exchange, exploring a new world of possibilities for Education in Rajasthan and the \u201cNew India\u201d with clearly outlined actions and solutions.<\/p>\n<p>An unprecedented event, the festival saw over 100,000 global innovators,\u00a0academicians, faculty,\u00a0change-makers, vice chancellors, educationalists, teachers, students, parents, scientists, and policy makers\u00a0under one roof, united by the same goal &#8211; to give shape to the future of education through discourse, discussion and debate. The festival aimed at creating a lasting impact and cementing Rajasthan\u2019s status as a Knowledge Hub and India as an Intellectual Capital.<\/p>\n<p>The award-winning international business and communications agency\u00a0<strong>Sterling Media\u00a0<\/strong>managed the international communications for the event to spotlight the strides Rajasthan is making in ensuring a quality education for all its children.\u00a0Established in 1995 to represent countries, corporates, consumer brands, celebrities, charities, governments and thought-leaders, the company has a specialist division to project India\u2019s innovators across various sectors including business, politics, culture and education.<\/p>\n<p>During the second day of the Festival, prominent London-based business and communications strategist\u00a0<strong>Natasha Mudhar, CEO of Sterling Media,\u00a0<\/strong>interviewed\u00a0the\u00a0<strong>Rt. Honourable Chief Minister of Rajasthan<\/strong><strong>\u00a0Vasundhara Raje<\/strong>\u00a0as\u00a0part of the expert panel sessions.\u00a0<strong>Natasha Mudhar<\/strong>\u00a0is recognised for spearheading a number of compelling campaigns including the India strategy for the\u00a0<strong>United Nations\u2019 Global Goals\u00a0<\/strong>to end global poverty by 2030. Natasha was a key member of the core team to launch India\u2019s largest public health campaign to eliminate filaria and empowering girls and women all over the world with the viral Spice Girls video remake \u201c#WhatIReallyReallyWant\u201d featuring stars such as Jacqueline Fernandez. Natasha Mudhar interacted with the Chief Minister in a session titled\u00a0<strong><em>\u2018Good Hygiene: The Greatest Gift Every Girl Should Give Herself\u2019<\/em><\/strong>. The Chief Minster shared insights on some of the most critical issues surrounding her work in promoting gender equality in the State of Rajasthan, the various Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) initiatives her government has launched in the State to tackle taboo subjects such as menstrual hygiene and the role that schools can play to achieve this.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the session,\u00a0<strong>Rt. Honourable Chief Minister\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Vasundhara Raje<\/strong>\u00a0said:\u00a0<em>\u201cSchools are a great leveler when it comes to gender. When together at school, girls and boys compete as equals.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0The Chief Minister highlighted how by ensuring equity, she is taking an initiative to empower girls and women to overcome feudal mindsets.<\/p>\n<p>Elaborating her vision for girls in her state of Rajasthan, the Chief Minister answered to a rapturous applause saying:\u00a0<em>\u201cI want to see my girls sitting here where I sit today.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On interviewing the Chief Minister,\u00a0<strong>Natasha Mudhar\u00a0<\/strong>said:\u00a0<em>\u201cInterviewing the Rt.\u00a0<\/em><em>Honourable<\/em><em>\u00a0Chief Minister was an\u00a0<\/em><em>honour<\/em><em>. She truly embodies the ideals of girl power and demonstrates that gender equality does work and is possible in esteemed positions of power such as Chief Minister.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Amongst the initiatives unveiled at the\u00a0<strong>Festival of Education<\/strong>\u00a0was the announcement of a\u00a0partnership between the\u00a0<strong>Department of Higher &amp; Technical Education<\/strong>\u00a0with the\u00a0<strong>British Council<\/strong>,\u00a0represented by\u00a0<strong>Alan Gemmell (Director, British Council, India)<\/strong>,\u00a0to develop Rajasthan as a hub for Higher Education, with assistance on spoken English skills across the state.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Member of UK&#8217;s House of Lords and Deputy Chair of British Council Baroness Usha Prashar\u00a0<\/strong>commended\u00a0<strong>Rt Hon. Vasundhara Raje<\/strong>\u00a0for her vision and said that with the steps she undertook, Rajasthan would soon be an education hub. Present and future generations needed skilling along with education and the same was being offered in Rajasthan.<\/p>\n<p>Other outcomes included the announcement from Rajasthan\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Department of Art &amp; Culture<\/strong>\u00a0of a partnership with\u00a0<strong>His Highness Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan,\u00a0Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, UAE\u00a0<\/strong>to create an exchange program and partnership between the\u00a0<strong>Government of Rajasthan\u00a0<\/strong>and the<strong>\u00a0Culture &amp; Knowledge Ministry of UAE<\/strong>, and\u00a0assurance from Bollywood megastar\u00a0<strong>Akshay Kumar<\/strong>\u00a0to assist\u00a0<strong>Panchayati Raj &amp; Rural Development<\/strong>&#8216;s efforts in sanitation, with the aim of amplifying the scope and reiterating the importance of achieving better hygiene and an open defecation free India.<\/p>\n<p><strong>His Highness Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan\u00a0Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, UAE<\/strong>\u00a0was the Guest of Honour and the keynote speaker at the Festival of Education, delivering a passionate Keynote address.\u00a0He highlighted that\u00a0every child should have the right to an education, citing the key role it plays in the personal and social development of any human being, enabling children to acquire knowledge and skills, to help define their future.<\/p>\n<p>Bollywood megastar\u00a0<strong>Akshay Kumar<\/strong>, internationally recognized for enabling passionate tailwind for notable social causes, extended his support for the Festival of Education.
