Chennai, 15th<\/sup>\u00a0September, 2017:\u00a0<\/strong>Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA), one of India\u2019s prominent management institutes, today organized an International Conference on Finance and Economics with the theme to discuss the \u201cCurrent Trends in Finance and Economics\u2019.Attended by industry veterans, academicians and students, the conference was inaugurated by Padma Vibhushan Dr. C.Rangarajan, Former Governor \u2013 Reserve Bank of India, Former Chairman \u2013 The Prime Minister\u2019s Economic Advisory Council and Former Chairman \u2013 Twelfth Finance Commission of India<\/strong>.\u00a0Fr.P.Christie SJ, Director \u2013 LIBA, Mr. SomiHazari, Managing Director \u2013 Shosova Group of Companies and Mr.\u00a0 Ravi Varanasi, Chief of Business Development, National Stock Exchange of India Ltd., Mumbai, along with the distinguished management of LIBA were also present during the inauguration.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>Delivering the key note address for the conference,\u00a0Dr. C. Rangarajan<\/em><\/strong>gave a perspective on the Indian macro-economy. He outlined a concise picture of the Indian economic history pre and post-liberalisation. Stressing upon the growth of the Indian economy he highlighted the current issues facing the banking sector.<\/p>\n

Commenting on the inauguration of the conference,\u00a0Fr. P.Christie SJ, Director \u2013 LIBA,<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0said \u201cIt gives us immense pleasure to be hosting a conference of this scale at LIBA in the presence of industry veterans.This forum has been curated by LIBA to provide an Opportunity to update ourselves about the various dynamics of Finance and Economics. The conference is also a wonderful chance for us to listen to stalwarts like Dr. Rangarajan, to have a better understanding of the Indian Economy and the various opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.I am confident that the researchers participating today from across the country will find the conference simulating and challenging.\u201d<\/p>\n

The conference laid a platform for over 75researchers, academic scholars and industry professional with cross-disciplinary interests to meet and interact. Spread across two technical sessions, with 29 research papers on a variety of topics were presented as part of the conference. With the\u00a0changing dynamic of India\u2019s economic growth, the conference also brought into limelight various aspects of emerging finance, business and economic trends that drive social, economic and market transformation in the country.<\/p>\n
