The club has been inspiring an environment and a support system for people who embarked on a path of weight loss and healthy living through bariatric surgery. The event saw people dancing to the tunes of Zumba and Kuthu in order to promote healthy living and create awareness on Bariatric Surgery. The session was inaugurated by <strong>Dr Nithya Ramamurthy,Senior Consultant Gynecologist&amp; Obstetrician Fortis Malar Hospital. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The patients and their family participated in this energetic session in full force<strong>. <\/strong>Focusing on the healthy living of the people, the event aimed at offering a holistic platform for Obesity and related disorders like, Diabetes, Hyper-Cholestrolemia, Hyper tension, Infertility, Sleep Apnea and many more to keep their wellness on track.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/faceinews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/GS_10446.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-7333\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7333\" src=\"http:\/\/faceinews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/GS_10446.jpg\" alt=\"GS_10446\" width=\"435\" height=\"290\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.faceinews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/GS_10446.jpg 435w, https:\/\/www.faceinews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/GS_10446-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 435px) 100vw, 435px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Commenting on the Happy Loser\u2019s Club initiative, <strong>Dr.Nithya Ramamurthy <\/strong>said, \u201c<em>Obesity has emerged as a major public health challenge in India and the prevalence of obesity is greater in urban areas, where men and women are equally affected.<\/em><em>The risk of infertility, conception rates, miscarriage rates, and pregnancy complications are increased in women who are overweight<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on the occasion, <strong>Dr. Deepak Subramanian<\/strong>, <strong>Consultant Minimal Access (Gastro) &amp; Bariatric Surgeon, Fortis Malar Hospital<\/strong> said, <em>\u201cA lot of the Indian population has started relying on processed foods that contain a huge percentage of trans-fat, sugars, and other unhealthy and artificial ingredients which gradually leads to obesity. Obesity is also considered as the core of many diseases. Increased weight carries significant health risks for some cancers, diabetes, heart diseases and strokes.
