Chennai, December 19th<\/sup>, 2017: <\/strong>7Up joined hands with renowned music maestro A.R Rahman<\/strong>, to launch its biggest ever music platform – \u20187Up Thamizh Naattin Kural\u2019<\/strong>\u2013<\/em>celebrating the vibrant spirit of Tamil Nadu. The state-wide voice hunt is now in Chennai\u00a0with specially crafted 7UP mobile recording studios\u00a0<\/strong>visiting 34 locations across the city in search of singing talent.7 lucky winners will sing live with A.R Rahman at a concert in Chennai<\/strong>. Actress and singer Andrea Jeremiah <\/strong>kicked off the Chennai auditions, by recording her voice entry to the contest at the 7Up mobile studio stationed at Women\u2019s Christian College<\/strong>. She engaged with the city\u2019s budding singers and spoke to them about her penchant for music.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>Speaking about the city-wide auditions, A.R Rahman<\/strong> said, \u201cChennai is a land of rich heritage, and there is magic in the air here. With 7Up Thamizh Naattin Kural, we are celebrating Tamil Nadu\u2019s rich musical legacy, and I am looking forward to discovering new musical talent from Chennai.”<\/em><\/p>\n

The mobile recording studios are stationed in Chennai till 22nd\u00a0<\/sup>December. <\/strong>The city\u2019s budding singers will be able to visit the vans at Stella Maris College<\/strong> and Royapettah\u00a0<\/strong>amongst others, and record their entries. Participants will also be able to submit their entries by calling\u00a0toll-free number 18001200077<\/strong>, and recording his\/ her voice.<\/p>\n

A refreshing, lemon-lime flavored beverage from PepsiCo, 7UP has been one of the most loved beverage brands in Tamil Nadu for over two decades, with well-loved campaigns like 7UP Pattalam and 7UP Upstarters. The brand\u2019s new initiative, \u20187UP Thamizh Naattin Kural\u2019,<\/em> will create a unique musical platform for singing talent from across Tamil Nadu to participate in and win the opportunity of a lifetime to perform alongside music maestro, A.R Rahman.<\/p>\n

The top 20 contestants shortlisted from all the entries received will be invited to Chennai to perform in front of a jury panel. The 7 best singers will be selected from this audition and will train with Mr Rahman\u2019s team. They will then perform on stage at a live concert to be held in Chennai in January 2018 to mark 25 years of A.R Rahman\u2019s timeless music. One lucky winner among the seven finalists will also be awarded a one-year scholarship at AR Rahman\u2019s globally renowned KM Music Conservatory<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In addition to Chennai, the 7UP mobile recording studios will also be visiting colleges and popular locations across\u00a0Cuddalore, Erode, Coimbatore, Madurai, Kanchipuram, Nagarcoil, Salem, Tiruvannamalai, Tiruchirappalli, Tripur, Tirunelveli, Thoothukkudi, Vellore <\/strong>andKaraikudi<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
