This play screened on 1st venue on\u00a0Koothu-P-Pattarai Trust on 10,16 & 17th December 2017 at 7 pm.<\/p>\n

2nd venue on The Spaces, Besant Nagar, Chennai on 23 & 24th December 2017 at 7 pm.<\/p>\n

About the play<\/strong><\/p>\n

The play Brahannalai deals with an interesting episode of the great epic Mahabaratha about the Pandavas during their 12 years “Vanavas” i.e. staying in the forest. The play which is in Theru-k-Koothu form has beeen converted into a play in modern format. It consist of 13 scenes and projects how Pandavas were able to outwit Kourvas who were planning to send them on second “Vanavas”. The play projects the interesting part plyed by Arjuna in Mahabaratha epic in the grab of\u00a0Brahannalai.<\/p>\n

Koothu-P-Pattarai (KKP) a professional Tamil Theatre institution founded in 1977, by a group of theatre enthusiasts lead by Mr. N. Muthuswamy. He has been honoured with Sangeet Natak Academi<\/strong> Award and conferred Padma Shri by Govt. of India. The plays presented\u00a0Koothu-P-Pattarai deal with contemporary themes using traditional stage idioms of Tamil Nadu, incorporating elements of dance, folk theatre, puppetry and martial arts creatively so that the space, movement and choreography become more important to the action. KPP has been functioning as a full time Tamil theatre repertory since 1988 and has over 60 major theatre productions to credit.
