The purpose of the conference was to provide a comprehensive review of all the treatable disorders with an aim to improve patients\u2019 outcomes. More than 330 doctors from different specialties like paediatrics, neurology and paediatrics neurology from Tamil Nadu attended the conference.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Dr Suvasini Sharma<\/strong>\u00a0from Lady Harding Medical College and Kalawati Saran Children\u2019s Hospital, New Delhi,\u00a0<strong>Dr Rachna Sehgal\u00a0<\/strong>from<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi,\u00a0<strong>Dr Naveen Sankhyan<\/strong>from PGIMER, Chandigarh and\u00a0<strong>Dr Mahesh Kamate<\/strong>\u00a0from KLE University, Belgaum were the guest faculties in the conference.\u00a0<strong>Dr Satish Kumar, Consultant Neurologist and stroke specialist at Fortis Malar Hospital<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Prof G. The delegates actively participated and discussed various recent treatment guidelines for the emerging childhood neurological conditions like autoimmune encephalitis.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Dr. Dinesh Nayak<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>senior consultant neurologist and epileptologist, Fortis\u00a0<em>Malar hospital\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><em>spoke on the scope of epilepsy surgery and presented many complex surgical cases from the Fortis Comprehensive Epilepsy Centre, Chennai. He said, \u201cEpilepsy surgery is the treatment of choice for those epilepsy patients who have surgically amenable lesions\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Dr. Lakshminarayanan<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>consultant paediatric neurologist<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Fortis Malar hospital\u00a0<\/strong>presented a case series of 12 children with rare difficult to treat autoimmune encephalitis that were treated and completely cured of the disease, in the last two years.\u00a0<strong>Dr. Lakshminarayanan,\u00a0<\/strong>who spoke on\u00a0<em>Epilepsy Pearls<\/em>\u00a0said,\u00a0<em>\u201cOver 80% of children with epilepsy could be cured with available medications alone and further emphasized that patient specific antiepileptic medication choice can go a long way in curing patients\u2019 epilepsy.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Dr Sheetal Sharda, Consultant Clinical Geneticist, MedGenome<\/strong>\u00a0who spoke on recent advances in genetic diagnosis said\u00a0\u201cThe correct diagnosis, with help of genetic testing, can benefit many patients as far as understanding the prognosis, management or prenatal diagnosis is concerned.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>About Fortis Healthcare Limited:<\/strong>Fortis Healthcare Limited is a leading integrated healthcare delivery service provider in India.
