CRF 50 Fest: More than 6,000 kids to be trained across the countr
A unique Social Initiative to educate children on Road Safety
Chennai, October 14, 2015 – Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd.’s (HMSI) CRF 50 FEST, a countrywide safe riding program for kids, concluded its Chennai leg today. The mega activity, aimed at engaging and educating kids in a fun way on the intricacies of ‘road-safety, drew participation from more than 600 kids.
The CRF 50 Fest was inaugurated in the august presence of senior officials from HMSI, Guru Nanak School (Matriculation Higher Secondary School) and Regional Transport Office.
The Honda CRF 50 Fest, which was inaugurated at Infant Jesus School (MHSS) also received an overwhelming response. The unique learning experience continued at Guru Nanak School (Matriculation Higher Secondary School), Chennai, here today.
Honda CRF 50 Fest was flagged-off from Delhi last-month; and has travelled to Chandigarh, Lucknow, Indore, Kolkata and Bhubaneshwar, Hyderabad; before making the 2-day pit-stop at Chennai. CRF 50 Fest will further continue the travel to 4 more cities including Cochin, Bengaluru, Pune and Ahmedabad. Honda aims to reach-out to 6000 kids all over India with the CRF 50 Fest.
Honda CRF 50 motorcycles are specially designed to train children in the age group of 9-12 years on the dynamics of Road Safety. The CRF 50 Fest is the largest congregation of CRF 50s till date.
The CRF 50 activity is a 100% fun-learning experience that replicates real-life riding conditions in an organized and secure environment. Additionally, theoretical sessions, traffic signs quiz and road rules puzzles are some of the other activities which were conducted by Honda safety instructors. Based on final performance and evaluations, Road Safety Champ was chosen and awarded. Participating kids were complimented with a memento to encourage their active participation.
Commenting on the occasion Mr. Y. S. Guleria – Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, HMSI said, “Under our ‘Catch Them Young’ approach, we believe in cultivating safe-riding habits from an early age. We want the future riders of India to be responsible citizens on the road and lead to a safer road environment. CRF 50 Fest is a small step towards creating safety advocates for the society helping us achieve our dream of – Making safe riding an everyday habit.”
Till date Honda has educated over 5 lac individuals of all age groups on safety riding with special focus on empowering females and kids. Additionally HMSI has adopted eight Traffic Training parks in Chandigarh, Jaipur, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Yeola (Nashik), Hyderabad and two in Delhi where it has trained over 2 lac people on safe riding.
Guru Nanak School (Matriculation Higher Secondary School) was established in the year 1979. The school is run by Guru Nanak Educational Society® under societies registration act. The society is running the school in a non-profit motive to impart quality education without any class creed or community bias for the past 36 years. The school imparts general education and aims to inculcate a spirit of self-confidence, sense of duty and discipline. The school caters to both boys and girls from Pre-Kg to XII standard. The motto of the school is “learn to live and live to learn”. The main stress is on Guru Nanak Devji’s philosophy of “Truth and Humility”.
Infant Jesus Matric Higher Secondary School was started in the Year 1981 by Rev. Fr. John Kottaram. He is also known as the Apostle of North Madras.
